Dr. Susan Marble-Barranca, Senior Consultant

Dr. Susan Marble is a triple threat as a communicator and presentation coach:  she is an accomplished performer and musician, an experienced trial attorney, and was awarded her PhD from Trinity College, Dublin, for her investigation into the philosophical relationship between law, ethics, and religion.

Susan has worked with StrategyWorx for over 10 years, helping to develop innovative training and communication tools, and conducting doctor training sessions to help them become better communicators and clear presenters of complex medical data and treatment strategies.  Whether as a speaker, trainer, performer, attorney, or academic, the goal remains the same: finding strategic methods to translate complex concepts into the simple and memorable.

When Susan is not on the road lecturing or attending conferences, she calls Annapolis, Maryland her home.  She has just finished a Fellowship with the Ethics Centre at the U.S. Naval Academy, where she has researched and spoken on such topics as the ethical implications of using private military contractors in war zones and, more recently, looking into the ethical issues that arise in the military use of robots and unmanned drones.  In addition she taught Business Ethics for the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey – primarily to Naval aviators – type triple-A personalities!

Dr. Marble’s passion for clear and compelling communication – whether scientific, academic or creative – is combined with compassion for the practitioners she works with.  Those who have attended her lectures and workshops inevitably comment on her knack of meeting them at whatever level they may find themselves, and helping them to progress one or two giant steps forward.  Susan is committed not to be just another conduit for yet more information.  Instead, she helps StrategyWorx’s clients take effective action – not just take notes.
